I am pleased to introduce myself as the special education teacher at Sycamore Canyon School. This is my fourteenth year teaching in the Conejo Valley Unified School District and my twenty-sixth year as a classroom teacher. For twelve years, I worked at Wildwood Elementary School as the special education teacher. I hold a B.A. from Ohio State University and an M.A. in Education from the University of Colorado. During my teaching career, I’ve worked as a special education teacher and a general education teacher in schools in Colorado, West Virginia, Massachusetts, and, of course, here in California. I currently hold a Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Clear Specialist Instruction Credential in Special Education, and a Clear Resource Specialist Certificate of Competence. In addition to these credentials, I completed 17 credit hours of course work at UCLA to earn the Crosscultural Language and Academic Development Permit (CLAD).
I am very glad to be teaching middle school students again this year. I will teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English, Social Science, and math. I will share the responsibility of teaching and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with Jericho Delaney-Ross. She is the special education teacher who will teach 6th through 8th grade math and science.
I look forward to working with you and your children and would be happy to meet with you to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
